Crowd Valley was invited to speak at the Globe Forum in Vancouver on enabling institutional capital deployment in the context climate change and the development of ‘green innovation’. Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau opened the event with an enthusiastic outlook on the opportunities at hand and a call to action, and several ministers, institutional funds and technology leaders participated in the keynote sessions, including Crowd Valley’s CEO Markus Lampinen.
On February 25th Crowd Valley's CTO, Paul Higgins took part in a panel discussion hosted by BrightTALK entitled 'How Regtech can hep with Know-Your-Customer and Data Sharing Challenges'. Venture Camp 2013 is a two-day conference organized by Mind The Bridge, a Silicon Valley foundation for entrepreneurship education and worldwide talent scouting. The conference held in Milan, Italy, hosted a select and restricted audience, mainly composed of angel investors, corporate executives and entrepreneurs. The aim of Venture Camp was to inspire the audience by providing an overview on the main trends and best practices in the early-stage finance market and by having several international investors and entrepreneurs sharing their experiences. On the 17th of October, Crowd Valley Chairman Jouko Ahvenainen took part to the Crowdfunding Academic Symposium in UC Berkeley. During that occasion Jouko also presented Crowd Valley Global Crowdfunding Market Report, which provides an overview on the international crowdfunding sector as seen by the company.
Following the recent WTC Roundtable in Denver, Crowd Valley was invited to advise a broad international gathering of brilliant minds in the picturesque town of Boulder, Colorado. The aim of the conference was to navigate the new market and set the research agenda for the Kauffman Foundation. Title II of the JOBS Act was enacted July 10, 2013 by the Securities and Exchange Commission. As part of the increasing attention and demand for knowledge in the market, Crowd Valley partnered with the visionary team at the World Trade Center in Denver to discuss building companies in the new age.Markus and Valto spoke on the crowdfunding and peer to peer markets evolution, international benchmarks and best practices, and shared the journey the Grow VC Group has taken since its inception several years ago. The latest in Imperial College London's series of Best Practice events on Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Design looked at ways to fund ventures and projects through socially-driven investments.
